Principal Investigator
Martin Wilson
Martin’s interests center on the retina as a neuronal machine for extracting and coding information from images. Much of Martin’s present work is concerned with the mechanisms of retinal synapses. Read more about Martin.
Graduate Students
Sarah Lindstrom
Sarah is examining the structure of the retina in detail using a number of live imaging techniques. She is also investigating the retina's connection to the brain through the optic nerve cord and the centrifugal visual system. Read more about Sarah.
Staff
Salvador Borges
Sal is the only staff research associate in the Wilson lab. He has recently studied the effects of lipids on calcium elevation in the ER of cultured neurons. Currently, he is attempting to discover drugs that affect spontaneous calcium releases called "blips." Read more about Sal Borges.
Former Members
Isaac Kim
Isaac cultured our cells and kept the lab running smoothly. He was our head lab assistant, placing orders and performing cell isolations for our experimental neuron cultures. Read more about Isaac.
Ajithkumar Warrier
Ajith completed several pharmacological studies on cultured neurons to clarify the sources and effects of calcium ions involved in synaptic signaling. Read more about Ajith
